Samia Henni teaches classes (lectures, seminars and workshops) that critically analyze and discuss the temporal and spatial manifestations of imperialism, colonialism, wars, resource extraction, deserts' transformation, forced displacement, and gender dynamics.
In 2024, Samia was awarded the ETH Golden Owl for excellence in teaching. With this distinguished award, the Association of Students at ETH Zurich (VSETH) honors dedicated lecturers. One lecturer in each department is selected by students each year. In their nomination text, the students wrote:
"She teaches with great passion, precision and commitment. In her courses, she creates an atmosphere in which every perspective is heard, and every student is taken seriously."

She was an invited visiting professor (2023-24) at the Institute for the History and Theory of Architecture (gta), ETH Zurich. In the summer of 2023, she was an invited tutor at the first-ever Biennale College Architettura 2023 at the 18th International Architecture Exhibition at Venice Architecture Biennale curated by Lesley Lokko. She co-taught a unit that we titled: "Practice" in which we search for possible forms of practices of (de)colonization and (de)carbonization.
She was an invited visiting professor (fall 2021) at the Institute of Art History at the University of Zurich; and an invited Geddes Fellow (spring 2021) at Edinburgh School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture, Edinburgh University. Between 2021 and 2025, she co-chaired the University Seminar "Beyond France" at Columbia University, New York.
In the last years, she taught and advised undergraduate, graduate, and PhD students in various academic institutions, including Princeton University, Princeton, New Jersey; Cornell University, Ithaca, New York; McGill University, Montreal, Quebec; ETH Zurich, The University of Zurich, and the Geneva University of Art and Design (HEAD) in Switzerland.
